We are a family run haulage company based in Shenington, North of Banbury Oxfordshire. We pride ourselves on providing the highest level of service to all of our customers. We have dedicated and experienced staff who always provide a friendly service. We operate a mixed fleet of vehicles from car based vans, through to the maximum weight artics, with a selection of bodies including box vans, curtain siders, flatbeds and low loaders. Our drivers are trained to load and transport a wide range of goods including: Machinery, Building materials, Chemicals and paints, Agricultural products, Hazardous materials ... just to name a few.
Bill and Connie Barton acquired their first truck, a Leyland Comet, in May 1961 and immediately started on a contract with Compton Buildings, who incidentally, were still customers until the closure of their works in 2011.
In 1976 the name, Sea Bea Transport was introduced and Bill and Connie’s eldest son David joined the business. John, Bill’s brother joined soon afterwards and in partnership they saw the business develop until they were working for most of the local agricultural merchants, as well as becoming hay and straw merchants, buying, selling and delivering hay and straw countrywide. The vehicle livery at this time was white lettering on a (Triumph) magenta background.
Sea Bea Transport Limited was formed from the partnership in 2004 when Philip, Bill and Connie’s other son David joined them. During the late 1980s and 1990s, with the demise of the agricultural business, other work was sought and the fleet grew to reflect the varied types of vehicle needed, to accommodate the wide range of work now being undertaken. The vehicle livery had at this time, changed to magenta lettering on a white background.
With Bill and Connie Barton still taking an active part in the day to day work activities, and their daughter Debbie, son David , two grandsons, Ronnie and Richard, all involved in the company it is still very much a family business.
